Voluntarios Internacionales México A.C (VIMEX) is a Mexican organization founded on December 4th, 1985. It began to work officially in 1982.
Located in Mexico City, VIMEX is an independent non-religious, non-governmental and non-profitable organization. It co-
organizes International Work camps, Medium and Long Term Volunteering programs, EVS and Weltwärts projects in
Mexico, it hosts international volunteers in various projects and sends Mexican volunteers to projects abroad. VIMEX’s
nationalprograms aim at integrating national and international volunteers in various projects by providing their time, energy
and knowledge and at the same time to raise awareness them to certain aspects of the Mexican reality. Being part of a
project in Mexico allows the volunteers to get to know a bit more about the Mexican culture, customs, heritage, but mostly
about its people. Volunteers can also practice their Spanish skills as well as getting acquainted with other languages while
doing something useful. But more important, VIMEX hopes that the attitude of the people changes for the benefit of human
kind and of the society we all live in. Therefore, VIMEX encourages everyone to experience being a volunteer in Mexico
and abroad.
VIMEX belongs to two international voluntary networks: the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service
(CCIVS) and the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations (Alliance).
The object of VIMEX’S international programs is to support and provide Mexican people the possibility to get to know
different points of view about different perspective of life and other cultures in comparison to ours. Moreover, VIMEX
promotes living together in harmony and working in an international team.

The volunteers should have 18 years or more: for volunteers of an age of 30 or more years they must have an open mind

For MTV, LTV, EVS and Weltwärts projects volunteers need to speak and write basic Spanish to facilitate the

VIMEX is a non–profit organization and does not have external financial support, all costs of the camp are sustained through participation fees from volunteers; Therefore, all volunteers are expected to cover the fees before the project begins.

About us
Vive Mexico, is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization that has developed projects for International
Voluntary Service, International Intercultural Training and International Cooperation for Development since 1996.
Our main activities consist in organizing international project in Mexico and send Mexican volunteers to participate in
projects abroad organized by our partner organizations.
Founded in 1994 and legally registered in 1997, Vive Mexico seeks to involve young people from different nationalities in
projects aimed to promote solidarity between nations and at the same time raise awareness of the problems that our society is facing nowadays, we are the first IVS organization legally constituted and officially recognized in Mexico and the largest
organization in Latin America.

All of our projects which have been prepared to bring Mexican culture close to the volunteers bringing also the cultures of
the world closer to Latin America; live and build together a great learning experience through International Voluntary Service, promoting the International Cooperation for Development.
All our projects are available for volunteers aged up to 18 years old, we have a wide variety of activities from projects to
protect the environment, support of indigenous children, language and training courses, protection of endangered species
(Marine Turtles) and promoting cultural exchange through international cooperation and solidarity.
This year we are offering Spanish courses one week previous to the start date of all the projects, the courses are carried out in the city of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico; the cost is 110 Euros that include: accommodation for 7 days, materials, theory
and practice, the duration of the course is 15 hours.
Conditions to participate in our Workcamps and MTV’s in Mexico:
1. To be older than 18 years.
2. To be able to communicate in English (English is the official language of all our projects)
3. To speak Spanish is recommended.
4. To participate for the whole duration of the project.
5. The start date of the project is the welcome day, and the last day is departure day of the project.
6. Volunteers should bring sleeping bag and air mat.
7. The extra fee must be given to the project leader in Mexican pesos on arrival to the project.
8. In the case of projects that have extra fee, the exchange rate is indicated on Vive Mexico’s website in the "Exchange"
section on our homepage.
9. Volunteers will work five days per week followed by two days off, so they can use their leisure time to explore the area
and enjoy the different activities that the places where they will stay have to offer.
