GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT
Voluntary Work-camps Association of Nigeria (VWAN) was founded in 1963 principally to reach out to rural community and
employ all resources at her disposal to alleviate the challenges of rural community and as well organize laudable activities to
empower the youngsters in the society especially the marginalized group with fewer opportunities.
Various efforts of the government at meeting basic essentials of the society has not been sufficient enough to address global
challenges hence the need for the organization to arrange young people of like minds to work together with the community to
realize these basic necessities of life.
Though, the level of illiteracy in the rural areas is noted to be high as a result of inadequate learning tools and dependable
educational infra-structure to improve the education standard of the people.
VWAN appreciate these complex problems and therefore mobilise the potentially motivated young people from various
continents to join with the community to carry out these developmental projects.
VWAN organises various camps in some suburbs and States of the Federation.
